Students in this course will both learn and love history! Through a classical sweep of human history, 3rd -5th graders will explore ancient civilizations who have left their mark on our world. Understanding chronological relationships and how local, regional, and national traditions have shaped humanity. Cultures from the past are made alive through activities, games, re-enactments, and “spontaneous” classroom adventures plus the manageable weekly homework assignments reinforce learning.

Literature/Grammar

This dynamic class is designed to encourage beginning readers and writers to love great books and enjoy the writing process. Throughout the course, students will learn how to write complete sentences, whole paragraphs, and their own creative stories. Games, art projects, and group work will help lay a foundation for a lifelong love of literature! Students will average reading one book per week and complete simple homework assignments. The work load is entirely flexible, based on each student’s ability, and the teacher will work closely with parents to provide a personalized program that is challenging, but never overwhelming. NOTE: Child must be in the 1-2 grade, and they need to be able to recognize and write their ABCs. They need to be able to focus and engage in a less for 1 hour. Strong writing skills are essential for school and far beyond. This interactive workshop helps students gain proficiency in writing strong essays.
